Great house, much larger than I expected for a traditional home. Extremely thoughtfully set up. Beautiful. Air conditioning was already on when we arrived. Close to the main street and ferry port. Even closer to the bus stop to the museums.

Guest House Wakabaya is situated in Takamatsu, a 5-minute walk away from Hanazono Station of the Kotoden Nagao Line. The Kotoden Nagao Line can be accessed from Takamatsu-Chikko Station. We were at 88-temple-pilgrimage, and Wakabaya-san helped us to plan the last temples perfectly: made a reservation of a ryokan, gave us timetables of buses, etc. This was really helpful! Beautiful, comfortable home which was a very short walk to Noguchi Museum in the nicest neighborhood. Close to a ton of great restaurants but very quiet and peaceful. We wished we lived here!

We enjoyed the stylish place and the new onsen-style bathroom with a ceramic tub. Comfortable beds and complete privacy at the guesthouse.

The place was really clean, and had everything that we could need all laid out for us when we arrived. The owners are the most wonderful people you'll ever meet, a kind older couple who live across the street from the building and speak perfect English. We often chatted and they let us use the bikes as often as we wanted. They will happily answer any question and sent us information in advance about how to access the hotel from Takamatsu station.. The room is really lovely, with a cool tatami room and kitchen, and traditional futon beds. The location is really peaceful and easy to access public transport. Just bear in mind that there is no lift, but the building is only 3 floors so it's only minimal stairs. All in all, I highly recommend this place, you will absolutely not regret it!
