The original capital of Finland, Turku is the country’s oldest city that features a bustling harbour, an array of museums and restaurants, and is renowned for being the cradle of Finnish culture.
During the summer Turku’s waterfronts come alive with boat bars and cafés, along with popular festivals such as Ruisrock Festival and Turku Music Festival, which are held in July and August respectively.
The city offers a number of entertainment options and landmarks such as the Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art, Turku Cathedral and the medieval Turku Castle, which overlooks the harbour.
Tallink Silja Terminal and Viking Line Terminal offer regular ferry services to destinations such as Stockholm, Åland Islands and Moomin World Theme Park, located on the island of Kailo.
Check out the Booking.com website to choose from a selection of hostels, apartments and hotels in Turku, Naantali and throughout Finland.
Turku is a very nice smaller city in FInland. There are lots of intereting places to visit in the surrounding area, the river aura, the cathedral, the museum, the harbour, Ruisallo island, the botanical gardens. Also plenty of good places to eat.

We didn't get to see much of Turku, unfortunately.
We didn't get to see much of Turku, unfortunately. We stayed there as it was convenient for Naantali. However, there were a number of museums and galleries etc that I would have liked to have seen.

It is a good experience from spring until autumn.
It is a good experience from spring until autumn. In between everything is gloomer with less opportunities. At any time of year, you should not expect that most people will meet your eyes nor smile. Nature is nice and during the summer there are possibilities visiting archipelago. If you are in the downtown, don't forget to visit over 100 year old Turku market hall, where you can have a great lunch and feel the local vibe. There are also plenty of unique nature walks around the sea or forests close b

Nice places to visit: Turku Castle, Cathedral. The city is beautiful and very clean.
Ate a couple of times at Timbuktu. Very nice African restaurant.
Public transport is cheap, on-time and convenient. It is 3 euros for two hours on any bus line.
The city doesn't sleep in summer time. Firsthand experience!

Just a lovely city with plenty of attractions to visit, naval history, medieval castle, lovely parks, plenty of choice regarding eating out (recommend Panimoravintola Koulu; Lone Star (burgers, fries)), easy to get around by walking, bike and/or scooter. Great base for exploring the islands of the Turku Archipelago. Must see attractions include Luostarimaki open air history quarter, walking or running along the Aura river, Turku medieval castle at Linnanpuisto park, Ispoinen beach and Sauna; various historical sailing ships along the Aura.

I went to Turku for Knotfest, so I didn't have enough time to see all the views. But, since I've been to Turku many times, I can tell you that it is an excellent place to visit with many sights to see, and not overly touristy. I recommend seeing Turun Linna (Turku castle), the River Aura, the old wooden neighborhoods, and the Turku cathedral.
If you are traveling on a budget, the public transport system works well, unless you use it after midnight when music festivals have just finished, such as Knotfest. In that case, be prepared to get ditched by bus drivers. For cheap food, you can download the ResQ app to buy cheap lunches from restaurants and help reduce food waste in the process. Here's the link, if you would like to check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=club.resq.android&hl=en
Lovely stay in Turku, less than 10 minutes walk from the train station, and for those interested in Logomo venue, the venue is located by the train station, so easily accessible from the hotel.
The lovely lady at the reception was super helpful and helped my with everything I needed, thank you so much.
The breakfast was delicious and so many options available, something for everyone.
My room was super big, light and airy, bed very comfortable, and super fast WIFI.
Would highly recommend it to everyone visiting Turku.
The studio apartment exceeded our expectations. Such an iconic Turku building in a nice, new-ish neighborhood. Lit up steps very close to the hotel lead to the top of the hill where you can find a great brewery, a fantastic restaurant, a bakery and the famous funicular. We had a beautiful view (stayed on the 4th floor) and the room was tastefully restored with beautiful period features (tall ceilings, massive windows etc.) Free parking was a wonderful bonus. We’ll be staying here again!
We loved, loved, LOVED this hotel! Originally a home 120 years ago, it's now an extremely comfortable, charming, and unique hotel. Our room overlooked a luscious garden, carefully tended by the owner. It's just a block from a Main Street, but super quiet. Walk up the hill to the park to watch the sunset. Our favorite part was the 3rd floor lounge with overstuffed chairs and sofas. So comfortable and quiet. I wish we had planned to stay here an extra day.
Hotel atmosphere as an old jail is still living in there but everything has been updated and upgraded for modern hotel.
The stairs between floors are the biggest reminder of old purpose of the building, nice that they have not been replaced. Even though they were so quiet to step so maybe some upgrade has been made?
Breakfast included famous Kakola oatmeal porridge which was good, maybe better than previous residents had?
Brand new hotel. Views of Turku's main square, perfect location. There were no disturbing sounds. The air conditioning worked perfectly. You could park your car very easily in "Tori Parkki" and it takes 2 minutes to get to the Hotel from there. The room was really spacious and the bed comfortable. The room was exceptionally clean. Very good. I recommend.
The service was extraordinary and all employees more than friendly and all with a smile on their face. Especially I want to mention Simo in the breakfast room, who filled all my wishes immediately. When I mentioned that the room is very cold, he brought me a blanket within few minutes. This hotel will be the only one for our next stays in Turku.
The hotel is located near the bus station and not far from the old town or the university. The room had a small fridge. Near the loby there is a free machine for hot water and coffee (with several extra hot drinks for a fee) and a microwave. The bathroom has a heated floor!! The breakfast is simple but sufficient. The WIFI is very fast.
The hostel is very nicely located in a foresty area. Our room was very clean. We did not use the breakfast, due to early departure on the ferry. As the shared bathroom is unfortunately very common in Finland, we were lucky that this hostel still had rooms with private toilet and bathroom. Good value for money.
The hotel is ideally positioned in the port of Turku and the railway station.
Is it very quiet.
The welcome was fantastic and very friendly despite our late arrival by car from the port of Naantali.
The room was exceptional and the breakfast in the morning just incredibly extra.
It's been a well-spent good day. Really a nice as well as a comfortable place to nightstay. Also the free breakfast is superb!
The convenient location of this hotel must be mentioned. If I come again in Turku, I'll surely stay at your place. Thanks a lot for your service!
Location: best position in town whether the trip is for work or tourism. Room: comfortable, clean, silent. And despite not being a "classic hotel", the host offers the use of a locker room, easy to reach and available way before check-in and long after check out.
Good place to stay in Turku. Public parking available at the road (not too busy). To the center of Turku around 30min walk. Near around 10- 15 minutes located supermarkets. 10- 15 min walk to cafe or restoran. Very quit around.
Breakfast is terrific- bountiful, relaxed, and delicious. Staff throughout the hotel is wonderful. It seems they have no limits to helping make your stay at the hotel, and throughout your visit to Turku as wonderful as possible.
It was a functional place to stay for one night. Good bathroom and beds. Sushi Hot restaurant located in the same building was great. Loved checking into the hotel at the Burger joint counter. Truly a unique experience.
Great and easy check-in. Private entrance to the hotel. Free parking on site.
Price was really good comparing to other places in Turku. Room was big and spacious.
Beds were comfortable. Good and spacious bathroom.
19th century hotel-castle with a history in a park. Magnificent interiors: furniture, tableware, ceramics, photos, pictures, tapestry . Kind owners, nice stuff. We were fascinated.
