Monument Valley is an awesome place.
Monument Valley is an awesome place. We took the tribal sunrise tour and I highly recommend it! We were planning to take the stargazing tour but it was cloudy, so they offered the sunrise tour or a reschedule in it's place. They also offered a refund, so I really appreciated the options..

Mainly a passing town and not worth a night as the hotel prices are pretty steep. Less food choices as well. One way to see this place is arrive in the morning and leave by late afternoon. A few hours is what you need.

Great spot for a tour both a guided and a self guided if you have time. Just prepare for the weather if you are doing a tour on an open bus! Great Navajo guides and a great opportunity to learn more about Native American people.

in order to best take in the valley - I would give yourself a full day to do the scenic drive within the park, and check out some of the other scenic spots nearby. The scenic drive is only available for a short window mid day so plan accordingly. the formations and local pride in the area is very memorable.

The amount of construction around the scenic areas is shocking. I never expected Monument Valley to be in the middle of housing. It was a very sad thing to see. I guess it's the smell of money that changed Monument Valley into a kind of Disneyland. Based on what I saw, I would not make a detour.

Monument Valley is to be experienced!
Monument Valley is to be experienced! We both drove it ourselves and took a tour. I would highly recommend MV Dineh Rebekah (SP?) Cultural Tour which took us behind public areas and we had the attention of a Dineh Guide. It was magical.

This was a very convenient location for exploring Monument Valley. The room was clean, pet friendly, and quiet. The power was out in the area when I first arrived, but staff were extremely helpful in explaining my options and offered a refund if I wanted to move to a different hotel. I chose to stay and am glad I did, because the power came back on and it was a very pleasant stay. My phone reception was a bit spotty, but they had great wifi. I just wish I'd had more time in the area so I could visit the museum in the area.
Right in Monument Valley. Gouldings offers several different lodging options. We stayed in one of the separate “cabins” with a kitchenette. The extra space was great and the views were spectacular. We initially had a problem with the TV but someone came right away to fix it (we were missing a remote). We also booked one of their tours of Monument Valley. Scenery was great.
This hotel is not located in The Monument Valley itself but just outside. There is though a nice view from the room and balcony on the big rocks outside the parc. The room is comfortable. You can have a meal in the restaurant. The hotel is close to the entrance of Monument Valley. We ate our self provided breabfast on the balcony and enjoyed the beautiful view.
This hotel is so well located from every room you have the beautiful view on monument valley.
The room was very nice with two big confortable beds, a nice bathroom an an outdoor space with the view.
It’ about 10min from the entrance of the Valley drive and 20min from the Forest Gump point.
There is a nice restaurant as well !
Our room had a balcony that looked into Monument Valley. The entire lodge had great views and a great backdrop against the rocks. The on-site restaurant had very good food for lunch and for dinner. Our room was clean, and the WiFi worked well. Staff at the lodge, restaurant, gift shop, and museum were incredibly friendly.
I will never forget the Sunrise I witnessed over the Monument valley from the balcony of this lodge. it was amazing. just 10 minutes drive from the Monument valley visitor center and the forest gump point if you are interested. it’s a Motel with a beautiful view in front of you and behind.
The location was ideal for visits into Monument Valley and surrounds. The view was amazing and the room/unit was wonderful, it was self contained and had everything I needed. Check in/out was easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend.
The view. Let's face it, waking up to the view was worth it. If not, we would have stayed 15 miles away in Mexican Hat, for a lot less. The hotel is older, but in OK shape. They have remodeled, but there is only so much you can do. We did like the room, and the staff.
We liked our cabin a lot. It was super clean, spacious and comfortable, with necessary amenities. The view from the front of the cabin was beautiful.
The surroundings were quiet and homey. The restaurant is the only reasonable place near monument valley to get food.
The room was well appointed and very clean. The view from the verandah of our unit was amazing. The hotel was very close to the entrance to Monument Valley and had easy access to fuel, groceries, restaurant and laundromat facilities.
Loved the views (this was my 1st at Monument valley. I usually don't pay extra for tours, and this time I did and it was fantastic. I had great time with the driver, Sam, and he was so accommodating and knowledgeable.
The place has a wonderful view on the monument valley. The hotel offers tours work Navajo guides that gives the opportunity to explore the area in an exceptional way.
The restaurant is amazing.
the view from our room was fantastic
the history behind the hotel was really interesting. The museum was great and John Wayne’s cabin all really interesting.
